WE ARE HERE TO HELP OUR HOME PLANET, ONE CUP OF COFFEE AT A TIME

Curu is a revolutionary partnership between you, the coffee drinker and smallholder coffee farmers to turn coffee monocultures into biodiverse agroforests certified as agrotoxin free.
We create nature-positive farming in the Atlantic Forest. It´sa biodiversity hotspot, meaning it has a huge number of organisms found nowhere else on earth, at high risk of destruction due to human impact. All of us together can support marginalized farmers, the native ecosystem of the Atlantic Forest, protect standing forests and regenerate land through new coffee agroforests, farming and drinking coffee to help

Why Agrotoxin free not organic

Conventional coffee farming keeps soil barren

Is organic always best?
Switching to organic farming reduces productivity per hectare. That puts pressure on forests, when more land is needed for agriculture, forests are cut down.
Agrotoxin-free certification provides a middle ground, allowing chemical fertilizers to maintain high yields without expanding farmland.
This approach ensures soil regeneration and biodiversity protection. To compare: organic fertilizer reduces leaching and runoff that harms rivers and seas compared to chemical fertilizer, Agrotoxin free forest farming ensures ground cover and increased soil organic matter, which also reduces run off and leaching.

Agrotoxin-free coffee farming let's the earth live

Stopping use of herbicides, pesticides and fungicides and using nitrogen fixing trees such as Ingá also allows the natural fertility cycles in the soil to recover and thus reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.
Weeds grow fast in the tropics so environmentally friendly farming means more work for our farmers, which is why they wouldn't be doing this without Curu coffee drinkers.
Your coffee, your impact!
