As a coffee lover and coffee addict, I was fortunate to become CEO of the British coffee chain AMT Coffee in 2020. In this role, I learned more about how most coffee is built on the exploitation of coffee farmers and our home planet.

I thought we could make a cup of coffee do more, do better, do great things. For us, for our planet, and for future generations. So I quit my career, learned Portuguese, and made my way to Brazil, the world's largest coffee-producing country, where people and nature are threatened by coffee purchasing decisions on the other side of the ocean.

Curu is our way of breaking this cycle. We work with farmers to breathe new life into the land through agroforestry.
